Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicOnce you enter through the door into the garden, you find yourself in an (artistic) paradise. I could spend all day in the garden, absorbing the inspiration that surrounds you. Made Kaek, the owner, and his family made us feel at home. They are all wonderful people, and we are happy to call them friends now. They helped us with everything, prepared a delicious breakfast for us, introduced us to Balinese culture and Made's art, with which we immediately fell in love. From an architectural point of view, the place is truly special. The combination of traditional and modern elements is beautifully executed. You can also enjoy Made Kaek's gallery and his atelier. Furthermore, the rooms themselves are like little galleries. We stayed in a second-floor room where we could watch the sunset from the huge terrace. This stay made our trip to Bali memorable. Thank you for everything! We will definitely be back.

The owner and his wife were very kind. The place is peaceful with a beautiful garden. The owner is also a painter and exhibits his paintings in a hall at the property.

Rumah Paros is a great place to stay. Made Kaek and his wife are wonderful people who do everything to make their guests happy and Kaek's many works of art give your stay a special atmosphere that will not easily be found anywhere else. An absolute must for art lovers visiting Bali / Sukawati.

The property is more stunning in person than the photos shown. The main tree, providing shade, green lawn with stepping stones, artworks by the host hung throughout the rooms and the house. The local breakfast provided by the host was delicious. The hospitality is heart-warming.

AustraliaI cannot fault this place. It feels comfortable, humbling, interactive with the hosts, warm and homey. I was loving every aspect of it. Breakfast was delicious (gado-gado and fried rice, with fruit slices and coffee/tea) served with love (I can tell by the presebtation) in sufficient amount. Pak Made and his wife, Ibu Rika have became our new friends and I could return here in a heartbeat. They, and their family are truly dedicated to Rumah Paros, they are so loving.

They were all very kind and attentive to us, the breakfasts are very rich, it is a different one every day. They helped us to get a motorcycle for our stay, it was short but I would repeat for sure. The room is spacious and was very clean when we arrived, and lots of art everywhere that makes it warm and beautiful. Close to keramas beach and ubud. Thank you very much for hosting us!

CanadaStaying at Made’s house was like staying with family. We had a great time having breakfast in the garden between arts, flowers and discussions. The room was comfy and beautiful, decorated by Made’s paintings. The neighborhood is calm and authentic. We would love to come back to visit our dear friend. Highly recommended 10/10!

IndonesiaPrior to our arrival, there was a very quick response when I inquired about a motorcycle rental through WhatsApp. The place is a little far from our actual destination but in the middle the village, perfect for a slow motorcycle ride. The host took effort in serving us a very late breakfast.

United KingdomThere is a loud call from the temple nearby at 6am, 12pm and 7pm every day, which sounds nice but can wake you up sometimes.
Beautiful setting in a quiet, non-touristy area of Bali, which I much preferred to some of the more popular areas. Everything is a lot cheaper around there too. The family who own the home are very friendly and kind, will help you with anything you need, the breakfast is delicious and can be catered to vegans! I hired a scooter and did laundry with them, both of which were super cheap and easy to do. Thank you Made and family for an amazing stay!
