Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe staircase to the apartments section might scare off at the beginning, but building is safe, no need to worry. Apartments section itself is what you would expect renting a place to stay for your holidays
Location is great, city center, close to Rijeka’s landmarks and a lot of restaurants and shops just 1 min walk from the entrance

South AfricaSome noice from the street below, but it quietens down later in the evening. It did not bother us.
Very convenient location, walk within minutes to the old part of the city, the pier (Boonker is a lovely restaurant) and the train station. Small convenience shops in the same street. All buses leave 50m from the apartment building. Easy to catch a bus to Krk island (highly recommend, beautiful!) Comfortable matresses, aircon not very cold but fine even in 32 degrees outside. Clean. Take note apartments are on the 3rd floor, lots of stairs to climb with luggage if this is something you should know. Very friendly check-in staff, a Whatsapp away. Very good price, my child of 15 years stayed for free., excellent value for money. Reception office was easy to find, meters away from the apartment building.

Swedenthe entered hall was under the construction (what I didn’t know) so the entry door was not locked and everyone could access the entrance. I didn’t feel really safe there coming after dinner. Also, one night someone was knocking to the door of my apartment around 3 am what was really scary. I’d like to believe that it was one of the guests from other apartment and just mixed the doors 🤪 Also, there was no any soap in the bathroom, what is strange I think, I usually don’t bring soap with me 😂
The apartment itself was really nice and clean, had everything you might need (except few things). also I was surprised that cleaners came after second day of staying and renew the bed and towels. great location in front of the bus stop and close to the city center.

We had no breakfast (was not included). The position of the apartment just excellent - in the very center of the town. Building is called Ploech Palace. The commissioner and owner of the grandiose palace was the Austrian mechanic Annibale Ploech (1826 – 1884), who made a fortune by working in the Torpedo Factory in Rijeka. The project was made by Giacomo Zammatti (1826 – 1927). So the building is beautiful, but at the moment not well maintained.

United KingdomI couldn't access my apartment one night due to electronic lock leading to corridor with apartments being unresponsive. There were more people in the same situation but despite calling and texting agency MoloLongo and the numbers on the doors of apartments, no-one would reply. Being a solo traveller, I had to search for alternative accommodation in the middle of the night. Agency's attitude was appalling - no-one replied to the messages even after the issue was resolved. I came back to the apartment next morning, the apartments corridor's lock was removed. The agency that runs these apartments is located across the street, but despite this proximity it was very hard to communicate with them and resolve the issue of partial refund. They were misleading me, kept asking to come next day and I ended up with less money refunded than we initially agreed. While people working there were polite, handling of my case was very unprofessional. Other than this, the entry to the building is dark, and creepy. The staircase has broken windows. When I arrived, the entry to the building was wide-open and anyone could access it from the street. The apartment itself is very noisy, I would wake up several times per night whenever people would come back to their apartments. There is a bright light from air-conditioning near the bed, which I found disturbing. The shower wasn't draining water fast enough and the water would spill to bathroom floor.
Very convenient location, the apartment itself was clean.

Austriathe building is historical but the people live there didnt keep it very clean, garbage on the floor. Moreover, the apartment is on 3rd floor, there is no lift. I really had hard time moving my suitcase upstairs. The apartment is newly furnished but its not practical. e.g. there is no closet, the air-con has a blue light, it is very bright at night when we switched off the light to sleep. The mattress is super soft, I personally like medium - hard
the location is excellent. The apartment itself also look very modern and new. The apartment located in a historical building, amazing. Breakfast is outsourced to a restaurant with walking distance. Breakfast was great with generous portion and it came with coffee/ tea and yogurt/ juice.
