How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only slight negative for us was that the fridge was rather noisy but it was a bonus to have a fridge. The only other comment would be perhaps USB charging outlet.

very clean & a good size well kitted out . Excellent location , for Airport, Train Station & also good food from the Spiders Webb bar a short walk away. Even got a Tesco right next door with cash machine . A great find & I will look it up next time I’m down .

Need some memory foam toppers for the beds to make them comfortable. I slept on the couch which was really comfortable
Amazing place to stay. Neil & Laura where so welcoming. Beautiful little family. So clean. I brought everything but the kitchen sink and didn't need to. They had everything. Tesco express also just next door. Off road parking too.

Theres actually nothing i could of complained or changed about it.
It was out the way, but close enough to a shop & 5/10 min drive from everything else, it was immaculate, everything we needed was there and even more, was lovely to stay at, highly recommended & will definitely be back. Thanks again.

Excellent property, had everything available for a self catering property Lovely rooms and very spacious. 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms with showers so had excellent facilities Easy to find and only 10 minutes out of town so was perfect for our journey We could probably have found cheaper accommodation but I doubt it would have been as spacious, well kitted out and comfortable as this was

This property was just ideal. I have 6 young children from age 6 to 15, and this was prefect for me and the children. The hosts allowed the children to use the trampoline in their garden, and they were very friendly and helpful. The property is spotless, and beautiful inside, 3 bathrooms with showers and a TV in each room, beautiful open plan kitchen/dining area with lounge. We will be back to this property. Thank you.

The checkin process wasn't clear at all, i got to the building and ended up having to call the number provided with the booking, only to find i had to go to a local hotel to get the key, this should be made clearer at the time of booking as it wasnt. Also while the rooms were clean and tidy and well presented there was a black screwhole in the wall next to the bed where the plaster had come off, not only that but the bed its self was quite hard, presented well yes, but not very comfortable, due to all of the above i dont foresee myself staying there again, while it is 10 to 20 pounds cheaper than a hotel, the extra 10 or 20 pounds for a hotel would be worth it for less hassle. I also asked for a taxi to be booked for the morning to take me where i needed to go, but i got to the hotel and the booking wasn't made, the manager was kind enough to give me a lift in his car, but the taxi booking and confirmation could be better also.
