Newly built & open since September, 2022, this hotel was most notable for its very contemporary decor and amenities, such as a heated bathroom floor, heated bathroom towels, large shower stall, water conserving bathroom faucet, 4 USB charging outlets in the room (2 at the bedside), extremely comfortable king sized bed, phenomenal room views of Lake Tekapo and its surrounding snow-capped mountains, not to also mention the complimentary milk & coffee for the room. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful & professional.

The treatment given by the staff was wonderful and the location of the hotel was convenient. Breakfast (served at the room) was good too.

Set in Mount Cook National Park, The Hermitage Hotel features a range of rooms and suites all offering majestic mountain views, and most with views of Mount Cook. breakfast is good and the reception is quite nice

The Godley Hotel offers country-style accommodation in the alpine village of Lake Tekapo on the South Island. The hotel is centrally located in the village with views of the lake and mountains. Amazing views of the lake from the bedroom.

MacKenzie Country Hotel is located in Twizel, in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and MacKenzie Country Region. It offers modern rooms with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was REALLY good! Not complimentary but a great selection and everything was quite tasty.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!
