Though it was my first time for me, we were in Gießen for a yearly festival. We did some driving around in Gießen. The city is very attractive with beautiful shops, clean streets and very friendly people. Gießen is small but very neat and easy to get around city.

Gießen is what it is, we have family there, so it was great to visit. not much else to see if you are wanting or looking for a true German experience although not far away are some very worthwhile sights, particularly Marburg. Dinner at Badeburg is a special treat, highly recommended. The old castle walls provide real atmosphere. Gießen itself s a bit sterile. Schwannenteich is nice but overall, i can't imagine it as a city on any tourists agenda, unless you had a reason to visit.

Excellent and safe location. Comfortable apartment.
Excellent and safe location. Comfortable apartment.
Easy to get around and visit not only the tourist attractions but also the city centre. All in all, the restaurants were good to very good. Lovely shops, especially the book stores!
Very good and regular bus service.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast had an excellent selection of choiced in a really pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff. The burg, just a short walk away, was a lovely place for beer and flatbread one night and a more refined meal the second night. (And beautiful views too.) This was a lovely base for visiting friends in the area north of Giessen.
The property was Ok but the la Scala restaurant underneath the hotel was a problem. Especially the restaurant staff always around you and warns you to get rid of the restaurant. So, I do not know which is which but, if hotel owns the restaurant then the restaurant should be warned. if restaurant owns the hotel then they should be more flexible for the hotel clients.
We did not expect outstanding accommodation. It is a budget hotel and baring this in mind the hotel met our expectations. The room was very small and at the same time very functional and ergonomic. Every piece of space was utilised in some reasonable way.
its ok but
we ordered two rooms in this hotel because it says it has air conditioning but when we came there was none but we found one room with air conditioning and stay there all the group in same room, we didn’t have what we paid for
close to train station. very helpful staff. excellent breakfast. prior to arrival, I advised hotel that I was coming directly from USA on overnight flight. Staff arranged an early checkin so I could sleep before my evening opera.
The ambience, the professional and friendly staff, the breakfast. The bus stop directly outside the hotel was a definite advantage; 2 or 3 stops into town and 5 stops out of town to our granddaughter's Uni accommodation.
Breakfast was good, room nice with nice balcony but fridge didn't work (although it wasn't cold). Free parking was good. Pets allowed also nice thing to us. We found restaurants not so far away. Staff was very friendly.
A very speciel hotel with memories and machines from earlier in the restaurant.
Nice to have diner in the evening in the "Biergarden" - very close to the river.
From our room door to a terrace with view to the river.
Easy an comfortable to Check in / Check out anytime. Car park close to the hotel. Breakfast just perfect and the hotel is located very close to the city center. All in all really good.
the staff was very friendly and attentive!
we also had dinner in the hotel, which can pride itself with an outstanding restaurant…one of the best steaks I have eaten so far.
Food absolutely fantastic, very good beer. Staff very helpful. The location was perfect. Atmosphere really good a very homely hotel, If I am in the area the place to stay
Good location close to Bahnhof. Staff is helpful during the late checkin process or while the reception is open. The price is ok. The room is average with good beds.
I liked everything about the hotel especially the room designs reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange and of course the amazing breakfast buffet!
